How the Clean EMI Application Process Works, End to End

Whichever loan category you’re applying for — home, plot, construction, LAP, vehicle or MSME — the underlying process through Clean EMI follows the same five steps. Here’s what actually happens at each one.
Part of the Vehicle Loan guide series.
Step 1: Submit application
You fill in the eligibility form with your PAN, Aadhaar number, loan requirement and city, and sign in via mobile OTP. This is also where you choose your loan category and, if you have a preference, a specific PSU bank.
Step 2: CIBIL check
We check your CIBIL score at this stage. A score of 700 or above is required across every loan category to proceed further — see our detailed guide on what the 700 cutoff means and how to check your own score beforehand if you want to know where you stand before submitting.
Step 3: Document verification
Our team reviews the documents relevant to your loan type — identity, address, income and, for secured loans, property or vehicle documents — and flags anything missing or inconsistent before the file moves further. This is the step most likely to cause delay if paperwork is incomplete, so having documents ready in advance speeds things up considerably.
Step 4: Bank matching
Based on your loan category, location and profile, we identify which PSU bank and specific scheme is the best fit and forward your verified file to the relevant branch. If you’ve expressed a bank preference and that bank offers your loan category in your area, that’s given priority.
Step 5: Branch sanction
You visit the matched branch for final verification — this is a legal and regulatory requirement for the bank, not an extra Clean EMI step — after which the bank independently reviews, sanctions and disburses the loan at its own discretion. Clean EMI does not sanction loans itself and is not affiliated with the Government of India or any specific bank. Start the process from whichever cluster fits your need: Home Loan, Vehicle Loan, MSME Business Loan and more, offered through banks including Canara Bank.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the full process take, from application to disbursement?
It varies by loan type and how quickly documents and, where relevant, property/vehicle verification are completed — the branch sanction step in particular depends on the bank’s own processing timeline.
Do I need to visit a branch even if everything else is done online?
Yes, a branch visit for final verification is a standard requirement across PSU banks and applies regardless of loan category.
Can I choose which PSU bank my application goes to?
You can express a preference on the eligibility form, and it’s honoured where that bank offers your loan category in your location — otherwise, we match you to the most suitable available bank.
What happens if my CIBIL check doesn’t clear the 700 threshold?
The application doesn’t proceed to document verification at that stage — you’re welcome to reapply later once your score improves.
