CIBIL Login: How to Access Your Credit Report Safely (2026)

Published 13 October 2026 · 6 min read · Clean EMI Editorial

Logging in to your CIBIL account is the quickest way to see your credit report and score before a lender does. The process is simple, but fake websites and apps copy the look of the real login screen to collect your personal details, so it is worth knowing exactly where to go. This guide explains how to log in, what to expect, and how to protect your information.

Part of the Home Loan guide series.

Where to log in safely

Log in only through the official TransUnion CIBIL website. Type the address yourself or open a saved bookmark, rather than clicking a link in an SMS, a WhatsApp message or an advertisement. A padlock icon in the browser shows the connection is encrypted, but it does not prove that a site belongs to CIBIL, so read the domain name carefully before you enter your PAN or any OTP.

Steps to log in and download your report

  1. Open the official CIBIL consumer website and choose the option to register or sign in.
  2. Enter your PAN, full name, date of birth, address, mobile number and email, exactly as they appear in your records.
  3. Verify your mobile number or email with the one-time password (OTP) the bureau sends.
  4. Answer any identity questions the site asks. These confirm that you are the account holder.
  5. Once logged in, view your score and report, then download the PDF and keep a copy for your records.

Your free report and what may be paid

Under RBI rules, you are entitled to one free copy of your credit report each year from each credit information company, and CIBIL is one of them. Some bureau services, such as more frequent updates or extra reports, may be paid. Read what a product includes and what it costs before you pay. Be wary of anyone who offers to unlock your report through a third-party login, because that is a common way personal details are misused.

What to check once you are logged in

  • Personal details: name, date of birth, address and PAN should all be correct
  • Accounts: loans or cards you do not recognise may indicate misuse
  • Payment history: late payments marked on accounts you paid on time
  • Closed accounts: accounts you closed that still show as active
  • Enquiries: credit checks you did not authorise

If you find an error, raise a dispute with the bureau and with the lender that reported the account. The guide on correcting CIBIL report errors explains the process step by step. If you are planning a purchase, the home loan page shows what lenders review, and the profile of State Bank of India explains how a PSU bank approaches applications.

How to keep your login secure

  • Never share your OTP, password or PIN with anyone, including callers who say they are from the bureau
  • Use a strong, unique password for your credit account
  • Log out after you finish, especially on a shared computer or phone
  • Check the sender of any email about your report before you click a link in it

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I log in with only my PAN number?

No. Expect to provide several personal details and to verify with an OTP sent to your registered mobile number or email.

What should I do if I forgot my password?

Use the reset option on the official CIBIL website and verify through your registered mobile number or email address.

Does checking my own report affect my loan application?

Checking your own report is not a loan application, and lenders do not treat it as one. Your score can still change as new account data is reported, so check regularly.

What if the official login page is not working?

Use the contact options listed on the official bureau website. Do not rely on phone numbers or links from unsolicited messages.
