CRIF High Mark Credit Report: How to Get Your Free Copy
Published 13 October 2026 · 5 min read · Clean EMI Editorial
CRIF High Mark is one of the four credit information companies licensed in India, alongside CIBIL, Experian and Equifax. Some lenders check a CRIF report when you apply, especially for MSME and microfinance loans, so it helps to know how to get a copy and what it contains. This guide explains how to request your report, what to expect, and how to keep the process safe.
Part of the Home Loan guide series.
Get the report from the official CRIF High Mark website
Request your report only through the official CRIF High Mark website. Type the address yourself or use a bookmark, rather than following a link in a message or advertisement. Fake pages often copy the real design to collect your PAN, Aadhaar details and OTPs. Check the domain name carefully before you enter anything.
What to expect when you request it
- Find the consumer or individual report section on the official website.
- Enter your personal details exactly as they appear in your PAN and Aadhaar records.
- Verify your identity with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. Some requests also ask for Aadhaar-based verification.
- Answer any additional identity questions the site asks.
- Download the PDF report and save a copy in a secure place.
Your free copy and what may cost money
Under RBI rules, you are entitled to one free copy of your credit report each year from each credit information company, and that includes CRIF High Mark. Extra products, such as more frequent updates or added services, may be paid. Read what a product includes before you pay. Be cautious with anyone who offers to get your report through a third party for a fee, because that is a common route for misuse of personal data.
What the report shows
- Personal details: name, address, PAN and other identifiers as the lender reported them
- Accounts: loans and credit facilities, with sanctioned amounts, balances and status
- Payment history: how each account was paid over recent months
- Enquiries: lenders that have checked your report
- Score: where a score is provided, it is calculated from the report data
Once you understand the layout, the guide to reading a CRIF High Mark report explains each section in more detail.
What to do if something looks wrong
Note the account or entry that is wrong, gather the supporting documents, and raise a dispute with CRIF High Mark. You can also contact the lender that reported the entry. If the report contains errors that affect a loan you plan to take, correct them before you apply. The steps are similar to correcting a CIBIL report, which is explained in the guide to CIBIL report errors. Before a home loan, you can also review your position on the home loan page and the profile of Indian Bank.
Keep your details safe
- Never share your OTP or password with anyone, including people who say they are from the bureau
- Do not send photos of your Aadhaar or PAN to unverified numbers or apps
- Log out after you finish, especially on a shared device
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the CRIF High Mark report free?
Under RBI rules you can get one free copy each year from each credit information company. Additional products may be paid, so check what you are being charged for.
How is a CRIF report different from a CIBIL report?
Each bureau holds its own data, so the reports can differ. A lender may check one bureau or several. Compare the reports you can get rather than assuming they match.
Can I get my CRIF report if I do not have a loan?
Yes. A report is available to the individual whether or not they currently hold a loan, though the contents depend on what lenders have reported.
Does checking my own CRIF report affect my loan application?
Checking your own report is not a loan application, and lenders do not treat it as one. Check regularly so you can fix errors before you apply.
